What plasma and serum services does BioChemed offer?
Defibrinated Plasma (DFP)
Plasma converted to serum by active and/or passive processes.
Delipidized Plasma/Serum
Serum (DLS) and plasma (DLP) processed to remove endogenous lipids, helping to clarify the serum and reducing turbidity with freeze/thaw cycles.
Defibrinated/Delipidized Plasma (DDP)
Plasma converted to serum, with subsequent removal of lipids. Renders serum optically clear.
Charcoal Stripped Plasma (CSP)
Plasma processed with activated charcoal for global removal of free, low molecular weight hormones. Ask about results.
Charcoal Stripped Serum (CSS)
Serum processed with activated charcoal for global removal of hormones.
Defibrinated/Delipidized Charcoal Stripped Serum (DDCSS)
Plasma converted to serum, with subsequent removal of lipids. Then processed with activated charcoal for global free hormone removal.
Resin Stripped Serum (RSS)
Serum processed with ion exchange resin for optimal thyroid hormone protein removal. More effective than charcoal stripping.
Gamma Depleted (Universally Depleted) (GDS)
For total immunoglobulin removal.
Affinity Purification (AFP)
Serum or plasma processed for specific analyte removal. Ask about advantages.
Ultrafiltration Plasma/Serum
Serum (UFS) or plasma (UPF) processed for protein removal of certain molecular sizes, optimizing serum or plasma for protein binding studies.
Diafiltration (DIA)
Serum or plasma is actively dialyzed against buffered solutions for analyte removal and/or addition of certain electrolytes.
Sterile Filtration (SF)
Product processed through a 0.22 micron absolute filtration scheme for removal of bioburden.
